New website to support people living with HIV A new website to support people living with HIV has been launched in the run up to World AIDS Day (1 December 2006). The website (www.dipex.org/hiv) allows people to watch video clips and listen to real patients as they talk about their experience of living with HIV. It has been developed by The City University, London, working with the DIPEx charity in Oxford.

Patients’ experiences of intensive care – DIPEx, a website about personal experiences of health and illness, launches its latest project The voices of the experiences of patients who have been through intensive care can now be seen on the award-winning website www.dipex.org. The research was conducted by the DIPEx Research Group, based at the Department of Primary Health Care, University of Oxford. DIPEx (www.dipex.org) is an online resource for the general public, health professionals and researchers that is based on research involving one-to-one interviews with people talking about the issues that are most important to them.

DIPEx's latest project about termination aims to help parents who may be facing the decision about whether or not to end a pregnancy because of fetal abnormality and who want to find out how other people have coped in the same situation. DIPEx hopes the project will be also be useful to those involved in medical education and research.

Website of HIV patients’ stories aims to help newly diagnosed People diagnosed with HIV will soon be able to access the videoed experiences of other HIV positive people via an award-winning website. The DIPEx HIV Internet project based at City University London, will enable people with HIV to watch, read or listen to real patients as they explain how the disease has affected their everyday lives. They will be able to get answers to questions like: How can I tell people I am HIV positive? What will friends and family say? What do the different treatments involve? How can I get more out of life?
